Friendly County Match

Handy Cross, High Wycombe.  Sunday, December 5th 2021. Buckinghamshire v. Northants.

On Sunday, Dec 5th 2021 our County bowlers headed south in thankfully good weather and road conditions to pay a visit to our Buckinghamshire colleagues. This was a return match after a 30-30 draw at home, so we were keen to do our best. After mastering the fiendish parking options, we entered the sumptuous Wycombe Sports Centre and found the excellent Bowls Hall.

Unfortunately, we were a couple of players short because of unavoidable health issues, and filling in these gaps as well as finding players to face their extra triple meant we were a little stretched, and most of our bowlers had to play additional games and forego their well-earned breaks. However, all those asked stepped willingly up to the plate for an extra go- thanks for this!

All games were fiercely contested, some going our way, others going against us, but always played by both sides in a friendly, sporting manner.

Finally, when all the arithmetic was done, we had lost by a score of 30- 24. Well done all.
